In May, we set off on our Flying Cloud Airstream (The Aluminum Bungalow) maiden voyage. We headed down to Prophetstown State Park in Battleground, Indiana. Prophetstown has 150 campsites, some are in a wooded area, the rest are in a prairie area. The park has hiking and biking trails and an aquatics center. The trailer pulled nicely and we got there without any incidents. We had reserved a pull through site so we didn’t have to worry about backing up into a site.At this time Jon is still working on his backing skills. The campground facilities are extremely well kept and very clean. We got all set up and took Jesse for a walk, then another walk and a another walk, trying to chill her enthusiasm for camping. We didn’t realize how many people camp with their dogs and Jesse wanted to become friends with all. Good friends from West Lafayette came out to enjoy the campfire with us that evening.
It was fun being out enjoying nature and meeting new people. For me it brought back many memories of camping as a child. For Jon, he is just starting making camping memories. Our first day was about to come to an end and it had been great. We had only been able to book one night as the park gets reserved very quickly.
